Grant Christy

Director of Operations in commercial solar. I keep fleets of PV sites producing — field crews, commissioning, monitoring, and the unglamorous electrical troubleshooting that actually moves the number.

What I do

I run operations and maintenance for a portfolio of more than fifty commercial solar sites across the Mid-Atlantic. That means dispatching and developing field technicians, running commissioning and substantial-completion inspections, managing subcontractors, and watching production data closely enough to catch a problem before it shows up on an invoice.

Most of the interesting work sits at the seam between the data and the site. A monitoring platform will tell you a string is down; it will not tell you the neutral on a step-down transformer is cooking. Closing that gap is the job.

Focus areas

Fleet O&M

Preventive maintenance programs, service scheduling, and field crew operations across a distributed portfolio.

Commissioning

Startup, punchlist, and pre-substantial-completion inspection on new commercial PV.

Performance & monitoring

Production analysis, fault triage, and cutting through false positives to find real underperformance.

Electrical troubleshooting

Inverters, MLPE, transformers, and protective relaying — root cause, not symptom.

Background

Aside from that

I build things. CAD, 3D printing, fabrication, and the occasional electronics project — usually because I would rather make a fix than wait for one. A few of those have turned into real products.
